1965 Volkswagen Notchback Collector Quality Example in Sea Blue
We are pleased to present the finest Notchback example currently on the market! This is a very complete, extremely well sorted car. It is in excellent condition and in many ways unrestored. It has also been upgraded in all the right ways to make it a much more enjoyable. See the features list on our website below this description for details. All of the rare and hard to find parts & Type 3 specific items are present. The car has never been disassembled. Everything works as it should, seat release, heater, latches, lights, etc.) The headliner & trunk liners, are all original. It’s extremely rare to see a correct wraparound dash without damage. Lots of NOS parts including VERY hard to find cupped window cranks and correct rear trunk light (It took two years to locate). Many pieces have been rechromed instead of buying aftermarket. The car drives great, has no problem going through a tank of fuel at 70mph on the freeway in the summer heat & it has been taken on 500 mile+ road trips. It has no rattles or quirks that are normally associated with a car of this age. It has been used as a template by other Notch owners to see what their car is missing. This car has always been treated special and well kept since new. It was originally purchased in Germany by a US serviceman who brought the car home to Texas with him. The car had an exterior only respray in the early 80’s and it was shown at various VW events. It was then kept in an indoor collection for many years. The collector who owned the car became interested in exotic cars (as his budget grew) and Ray Dunham (well know southern California hot rod builder) bought the car. The current owner purchased the car from Ray in 2013 & continued the work on it. The car has won many awards over the past 35 years. See pictures in VW trends 80’s, sitting in the warehouse collection, Hot VW's 1995, Hot VW’s 2009, Hot VW's 2015, and various others. The birth certificate is also included.
